Element Logic is looking for a Inhouse Legal Counsel. You will work closely with key stakeholders both internal and external, as well as with our management. The role is situated from our office in Kløfta but will tend to all markets we operate in and from.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert and strategic legal advice to management
  • Carrying out legal audits and risk assessments to identify areas that can be improved and risk to be mitigated
  • Making policies, procedures, templates and guidance materials relating to contractual matters and compliance issues
  • Assisting management with day-to-day legal matters and liaising with external counsel/local counsel when necessary
  • Performing legal reviews in connection with invitations to tenders and providing advice on how to properly manage contractual and commercial risk
  • Contracting, contract negotiation and contract management nationally and internationally (drafting, reviewing, negotiating and managing contracts with customers, suppliers and third parties)
  • Participating in final review of contractual and commercial documents prior to contract signature
  • Internal coaching concerning pre-contract considerations and other legal issues
  • Providing support on ESG related projects and requirements
  • Developing and maintaining electronic management of agreements and formalities, work with management to further develop the process, templates, and archive systems
  • Acting as Data Protection Officer an providing pragmatic advice on data protection law
  • Assisting in M&A and financing legal matters and liaising with external legal advisors when necessary
  • Supporting in establishing new legal vehicles, and maintaining and keeping record of critical company documents (e.g. incorporation documents, articles of association, financing documents, general assembly documents)
  • Assisting in any form of disputes or claims

Skills and experience:

  • Master’s degree in law, or recognised equivalent qualification in law
  • At least 2-4 years post qualification experience (in-house or private practice is an advantage)
  • Overall broad legal knowledge (contract law, corporate law, litigations, labour law, data protection law, marketing and intellectual property law)
  • Commercially driven
  • In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organisations
  • Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives
  • Strong understanding of contract law, with practical experience drafting and reviewing, negotiating commercial contracts, including experience with international contractual principles and governance
  • Experience with tenders and procurement processes
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to manage a varied workload in a deadline-driven environment (time-management skills)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team in an international environment
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Norwegian and English
