However, what we can already see is that with more people staying home,&nbsp;online services are becoming an increasing part of people\u2019s lives\u201d, says&nbsp;Chief Sales Officer in Element Logic, H\u00e5vard Hall\u00e5s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The trend is&nbsp;definitely&nbsp;not&nbsp;new. During previous epidemics such as the SARS crisis in 2002 and 2003, the Chinese online platforms JD.com and Alibaba experienced growth. The same seems to be happening now&nbsp;as&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/johnkoetsier\/2020\/03\/09\/china-smartphone-sales-drop-55-thanks-to-coronavirus-but-e-commerce-and-delivery-businesses-are-booming\/#70c9c034bb93\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">companies within delivery-services and e-commerce<\/a>&nbsp;manage to keep open for business without letting the customers walk in, notes Forbes magazine. A&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ipsos.com\/sites\/default\/files\/ct\/news\/documents\/2020-03\/tracking-the-coronavirus-wave4-ipsos.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">research paper from Ipsos<\/a>&nbsp;on how brands respond to the corona virus also shows&nbsp;an increase in online shopping.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/www.elementlogic.net\/content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2024\/10\/EL_BA_CSO-quote-1024x684-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.elementlogic.net\/content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2024\/10\/EL_BA_CSO-quote-1024x684-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.elementlogic.net\/content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2024\/10\/EL_BA_CSO-quote-1024x684-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.elementlogic.net\/content\/uploads\/sites\/24\/2024\/10\/EL_BA_CSO-quote-1024x684-1-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-online-nbsp-market-nbsp-is-maturing-faster\"><strong>Online<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>market<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;is maturing faster<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Hall\u00e5s foresees a change in how people spend their money, with a greater trust in online shopping going forward.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOne of the reasons for the increased&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>online&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>shopping is obviously that there are fewer offline options available. Yet, another more interesting aspect of the trend is that new users, whom up until now might have opted out of the online shopping trend, are also giving online shopping a go<\/strong><strong>. Not only are they positive in trying it, they&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>are more or less<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;forced to<\/strong><strong>\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He notes that online shopping has been a&nbsp;growing&nbsp;global trend for the past decade \u2013 and especially in Europe. Having experienced the convenient way of obtaining goods through online shopping, many of the&nbsp;unexperienced&nbsp;online shoppers will probably continue&nbsp;using&nbsp;online shopping platforms after the coronavirus epidemic has passed, he predicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn other words, e-commerce will most likely&nbsp;continue to grow, and even get boosted for the long run as well, due to the impact of the&nbsp;coronavirus.&nbsp;With more people testing out the convenience of online shopping, I believe more people will see this as an option also after the crisis is over, he says. Take for example home delivery of groceries: For those depending on public transport, this is much easier than manually carrying heavy loads home.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Regardless of what the future brings,&nbsp;meeting your customer\u2019s needs should be your number one priority.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThe&nbsp;main focus&nbsp;now is to get through this crisis. One important part of that is providing customers with the best possible service, despite the difficult circumstances.
