New Goods-to-Person system holds 37,500 bins and over 20,000 product lines, built to double case output and lift operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n

Element Logic has rolled out an AutoStore-based automation system at an ID Logistics site in Catalonia that manages operations for a leading beauty and personal care brand. The project is part of ID Logistics’ wider plan to use automation to handle rising volumes and increasingly complex logistics operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The client wanted to double both case output and order lines, so the goal was clear from the start. To get there, the traditional picking line is being progressively replaced with an automated Goods-to-Person (GTP) system powered by AutoStore. Its modular design means the system can scale as demand grows, without losing performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initial setup gives the site a static capacity of 37,500 containers holding 20,908 SKUs, supported by 46 robots, 5 inbound ports and 8 outbound ports (scalable up to 6 and 18 respectively). Together, this lets the site process 20,091 order lines a day, with goods moving faster and less handling along the way. An automated box-forming line, with height reduction and automatic sealing, rounds out the setup, cutting packaging waste and supporting the site’s sustainability goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A connected warehouse, not just a new system<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The new AutoStore network is fully integrated with LMxt, ID Logistics’ warehouse management system at the site. That means inventory, traceability and coordination with other technologies all work together, including the automated pallet warehouse that combines VNAs, AGVs and AMRs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ID Logistics chose Element Logic for its track record in building automation that scales and adapts to each client’s needs, in line with how ID Logistics likes to operate. The combination of smart space planning and proven systems integration meant the transition could happen without disrupting day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The challenge here was fitting AutoStore into an operation that was already complex and growing fast. We built a system designed to grow with it, one that can take on more volume without losing efficiency,” says C\u00e9sar Nosti, managing director of Element Logic Spain and Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\t\t
