Devold Future-Proofs Its Logistics with Element Logic

Devold of Norway, one of the world’s oldest textile brands, has a proud 160-year legacy of delivering durable wool garments for outdoor enthusiasts and professionals alike. But tradition alone does not secure tomorrow’s competitive edge.

As customer expectations shifted toward faster delivery and greater flexibility, Devold realized it was time to transform how they fulfill orders without compromising quality.

To meet these new demands, Devold turned to Element Logic to optimize its warehouse performance in Lithuania, their primary production hub responsible for over 90% of global output.

To keep our standards while delivering faster, we had to upgrade how we fulfil orders.

Minimizing Errors, Maximizing Performance

In 2016, Element Logic implemented an AutoStore system tailored to Devold’s needs. Since then, the company has more than halved dispatch times for e-commerce orders, significantly reduced manual labor, and nearly eliminated picking errors – now only registering a handful of complaints annually.

“It is obviously much faster when a robot brings the product directly to the operator, instead of them searching for it manually in the warehouse,” Møller explains.

What used to be a traditional warehouse operation reliant on batch-based picking is now a dynamic and continuous flow from goods-in to dispatch, enabled by Element Logic’s expertise in end-to-end intralogistics.

“The flow is now seamless. We do not wait for batches anymore; we pick and ship dynamically,” Møller continues.

Element Logic – A Trusted Partner in Devold’s Growth

Devold has already expanded their AutoStore system twice and is preparing for a third upgrade – testament to the system’s scalability and the trust placed in Element Logic as a long-term automation partner.

Element Logic has done an excellent job, and AutoStore has proven to be a very reliable solution. The collaboration has been seamless – we are fully satisfied and a happy customer.

This partnership embodies the Element Logic ethos where people and technology work hand in hand. The aim is not to replace skilled teams, but to empower them.

“This investment is not about cutting people; it is about enabling our people to be more efficient and our operations to scale,” adds Møller.

A Scalable System for a Fast-Moving Market

As Devold continues to grow, the system enables them to meet rising demand with agility by supporting both wholesale and e-commerce with high SKU variety and smaller batch sizes. The automation is not just meeting today’s needs but positioning Devold for tomorrow’s business models: direct-to-consumer, personalized orders, and on-demand production.

“We can now accept more demand-driven orders, even mid-season, with confidence,” says Møller.

Optimizing Warehouse Performance – Together

Devold’s story is not just one of automation. It is about being brave enough to challenge the status quo, passionate enough to keep evolving, and reliable enough to trust the right partner for the journey.
