Össur Europe B.V., a global provider of medical devices and orthopedic solutions, is partnering with Element Logic. Through this collaboration, Össur aims to further strengthen its healthcare logistics operations in the Netherlands. 

The project is part of Össur’s ongoing efforts to optimize and streamline its distribution processes, and it also aligns with Element Logic’s continued focus on the healthcare sector. 

From its site in Eindhoven, Össur distributes a broad product portfolio, including braces and prosthetics, across the EMEA region. To further support these logistics operations, Össur selected Element Logic as its automation partner following following a thorough evaluation process 

Supporting healthcare logistics

Healthcare logistics places high demands on reliability, accuracy, and operational continuity. For organizations in this sector, well-organized warehouse processes are essential to ensure product availability and consistent service levels. 

With this investment, Össur is creating room for future growth through an automation project focused on creating stable and controlled logistics processes within its existing warehouse environment. 

After evaluating several options for warehouse expansion and automation, Össur selected the AutoStore solution and Element Logic as its partner to further strengthen warehouse operations. AutoStore’s cube-based grid system enables Össur to make better use of available warehouse space while increasing order-picking accuracy. The system also provides the flexibility and scalability needed to support future growth. 

Sustainability is also an important priority for Össur. The solution from Element Logic combines low energy consumption with high storage density, helping Össur avoid further building expansion while maintaining efficient operations.

Local execution supported by international experience

The project will be delivered by Element Logic’s local Benelux team in close collaboration with Össur’s organization. This approach ensures short communication lines and strong operational alignment, while allowing Element Logic to apply its international automation experience.

The solution is based on an AutoStore system, complemented by a conveyor setup delivered and integrated by Element Logic, supported by Element Logic’s eManager software. The installation includes 26,270 bin locations, 12 AutoStore robots, and four ports for picking and decanting.

It was a very positive experience working together with Össur to define the right automation solution. Their openness, engagement, and willingness to explore different options made the process a true collaboration. It is great to see how the project is now taking shape.

The contract was signed in November 2025. Go-live is planned for October 2026.
